-Exposition: “It was getting on toward six o’clock so I thought I’d buy myself a beer and go out...”
The first until the ninth paragraph are introduced the characters and settings.
-Rising Action: “The boy paused for just a moment and he glanced first at the English girl....”
The little man offered the boy to make a bet, if the boy won he gets the Cadillac but if the little man won he gets the boy’s little finger. Finally in the thirty seventh paragraphs; the boy accepted his offer.
-Climax: “With his thumb he raised the top of the lighter, and again with the thumb he gave the wheel a sharp flick...”
In the sixty second paragraphs; they began their business making the bet. The boy started flicking the lighter while the little man was ready to chop.
-Falling action: “’Eight!’ I said, and as I said it the door opened...”
In the sixty seventh paragraphs; suddenly there was a woman stop them all, she took the chopper from the little man. Then, the boy untied his hand
-Resolution: “’he is a menace,’ the woman said, ....”
In the seventy second until the last: the woman told the fact about the little man to the boy and made all clear.
