Review
Shaman
king is a japanese manga created by Hiroyuki Takei. This comic was released in
1998-2004 with continued system and released every month. This story tells
about boy (Yoh Asamura) that can relate with main spirit and this boy is in his
training to follow shaman fight arranging in every 500 hundred years and be
Shaman King that is a winner of the tournament and the winner will get a Great
Spirit and lead the world. If the winner is a kind person, the world will be a
good world, but if the winner is a bad person so that the world also will be a
bad world.
Main
Character
Yoh Asakura
He is the main character. A
lazy boy that always want enjoy live. His hope to be Shaman King in order to
always enjoying his live. Yet, actually he has a hard work from Asakura's
family that is to defeat Hao Asakura (his twin brother).
Amano Teruko
She is a shaman and voodoo
doll user who works under Manta's father, Mansumi, alongside Reiheit.
Amidamaru
Yoh is amidamarus main spirit
ally who helps Yoh in his quest to become the Shaman King.
Yoh's
loving, though undeniably strict fiancee, Anna Kyouyama is an itako with the
ability to summon spirits from the dead and read minds. Her goal is to make Yoh
the Shaman King, so she can live happily by his side as the Shaman First Lady.
Mikihisa Asakura is the father
of protagonist Yoh Asakura in the manga and anime series, Shaman King. In the
manga, he belonged to Team Kabbalahers together with Redseb and Seyram. He has
two spirits, a tanuki and a kitsune, and the Over Souls make use of stones as
their medium.
Main antagonist of Shaman
King. He is a powerful shaman who mastered the pentagram and has control over
his soul during reincarnation.
Horohoro is an Ainu shaman whose
goal to create a vast field of Butterbur to save the Koropokkuro.
Supporting Character
Bason is the ghost of an
ancient Chinese wujiang who serves Ren faithfully and obeys him without
question. In the English manga Bason calls Ren "Master Ren," while in
the Japanese version he calls Ren "Bocchama," which means "Young
Master.
He is a shaman and a follower
of Hao Asakura. Big Guy Bill is a former American football player.
He is a trunk driver who gives
rides to Ryu and his friends. He appears more times in the anime than the
manga.
He is a shaman who is one of
Hao's followers.
She is a normal park ranger in
the Shaman King series.
Ryu is a very muscular man
with a very unique appearance.
He is a shaman who has a
vampire powers and his ghost is a vampire hunter named Blamuro.
BoZ monks are shamans who used
their guitar and music to send spirits into the afterlife, and their oversoul
is an army of Chimimouryou.
Bron is one of ten Patch
Officials/ Priests; he is Lyserg's officiant.
He is a shaman and an X-Law
member who wants revenge on Hao Asakura just like all of his teammates.
Chocolove is an
African-American Shaman who was brought up in the city amongst dumpsters under
the tutelage of his mentor, who dies and leaves him Mic.
He is a shaman and an X-Law
member whose team's goal is to kill Hao Asakura.
Eliza is Faust's first, only,
and one true love. She was ill with a fatal disease since her childhood. As the
only woman to care for Faust VIII, he, in return, slaved over his studies to
find a cure for her.
She is a shaman who is part of
the Lilly Five team and she and her team face rejection from society due to
their shamanic powers.
The female’s chief who head of
the Patch Tribe.
He is a shaman and one of
Hao's followers.
Other Character
He is an X-Law member and his
goal is to kill Hao just like all of his teammates.
Ren's older sister and Lee
Bailong's controller. She uses o-fuda(talismans). Once a villain, but turned
after learning the true way to be a shaman from Yoh.
Kalim is Silva's friend who
oversees the Shaman King tournament. He's of the patch tribe.
One of Hao's followers. She is
the leader of the team Hanagumi. Her spirit ally is Ashcroft.
Keiko Asakura
Keiko Asakura is the wife of
Mikihisa Asakura and the mother of Yoh and Hao.
Kino Asakura
She is the wife of Yohmei
Asakura and she is a powerful shaman who trains Anna Kyoyama to become an
Itako.
Kororo is a Koropokkuru (known
as Minutians in the English anime) a tiny spirit people and the spirit ally of
Horohoro.
Kouji Yamada
Kouji is one of Hao's
followers.
Lady Sati
She is a shaman who is the
leader of Team Gandahara in the Shaman King franchise.
Larch Dirac
He is a shaman and an X-law
member. His team, X-Laws, have a goal to exact vengeance upon Hao Asakura.
Lee Pailong
Once a movie star but was
killed by the Tao Family and turned into a Jiang-shi.
Lilirara
She is a Seminole medicine woman and a shaman who will
stop the Patch Tribe's shaman fight tournament.

Point of View
The author use third person as a major character.
Plot
Raising Action
This story reach the raising action when Yoh Asamura meet
his twins brother Hao Asamura in the final duel of Shaman King. However, that
is very hard to defeat Hao because he has a holy and powerful spirit.
Climax

The climax reach
when Yoh Asamura almost die when he get a powerful hit by Hao Asamura in his
chest, but he still can wake up and continue his battle.

When Yoh and Hao
power collision each other and make a very big power that can destroy something
around it.
Falling Action
The falling action reach when Yoh defeat Hao Asamura
after he get an opportunity to make counter attack and bring out his powerful
attack then hit Hao Asamura and his main spirit.

Evidence : said of Yoh “ I think in this battle we just
defeat the other player and move to the other battle and also meet the other
player”.
Conclusion
As we can see, the characters of the story
are very talent and never give up reaching what they want and as the reader we
should follow their character because if we never give up we will get what we
want.
